This CPD course is designed to refresh your basic life support skills and use an AED in a GPs setting.
You will also revisit giving Basic Life Support for adults, children, and infants in a GPs setting and you will brush up on your skills of using an AED and giving treatment or assistance to the patient if they are choking whilst waiting for the Emergency Services to arrive on scene.
This is a practical course with a balance of theory with training scenarios to put your skills into action while getting positive feedback and guidance from an expert healthcare professional.
This CPD course will help the GPs practice team to prevent skills fade, something we all have if we do not practice these skills.
Doctors and clinical and non-clinical staff are required to undertake regular Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) training to maintain their skill set to deal promptly with a medical emergency if a team member or patient becomes unwell.
This BLS & AED (CPD) course will equip you with the required skills and knowledge to perform CPR and how to use an AED (Defibrillator) safely and confidently in a medical emergency.
You will revisit and update your skills and knowledge to be able to provide treatment and assistance to a casualty who may be Choking, having a Seizure, or having a Heart attack.
This CPD course will be a balance of theory and practical skills with several training scenarios to put your learning into practice. Assessments will be carried out throughout the course and feedback be given to encourage you on your learning journey.

Learners will understand different medical emergencies and how to provide treatment for;
Learners who pass all practical assessments will be awarded a CPD certificate of attendance for Basic Life Support (BLS) & AED (defibrillator) training in a GPs surgery for 4 hours of CPD.
The CPD certificate is valid for 12 months from the assessment date.
