Emergency First Aid at Work (Forestry)

Emergency first aid at work (forestry), or EFAW+F as it is commonly known, follows all the modules of the emergency first aid at work syllabus, but as extra modules that are specific to those who work on Forestry England or Forestry Commission land.

This course is ideal for individuals in low-risk roles, such as land surveyors, rangers, ecologists, estate workers in low-risk areas, or fencing contractors.

Emergency first aid at work will give you the skills to carry out high-quality CPR, use a defibrillator (AED) safely and confidently, and also how to rectify common faults with an AED.

You’ll learn how to manage minor bleeds and effectively address burns and scalds.

Not only that, but you will also acquire the ability to assist someone who is choking, experiencing a seizure, or suffering from medical shock.

Additional modules include the use of haemostatic agents (gauze, crystals, dressings, tourniquets, etc.), spotting Lyme disease, tick removal, anaphylaxis, and environmental conditions (cold & heat).

Additionally, it is recommended that candidates have at least Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills or their equivalent.
