Is It Silly to Ask Questions?

Is it silly to ask questions? In my opinion, it is not. I firmly believe that if you don’t know something, it’s better to ask. This can help prevent confusion and misunderstandings later on.

Recently, someone reached out to us for assistance with a first aid needs assessment for his business. He was unsure how to conduct one and thought his question might be silly. However, it was clear that he needed guidance, and it was definitely not a silly question.

We provided him with a link to our PDF guide on conducting a first-aid needs assessment and offered to walk him through it if he wanted more assistance. He appreciated our help and thanked us.

He came back for more chat

A few hours later, he returned to us with another question, saying, I have another question for you, which might seem a bit silly.

How do I choose a first aid training provider for my staff, and what should I consider? We sent him another link to assist him, along with an offer to help further if needed.

As you might have guessed, he came back with another question.

He said, “This isn’t a silly question, but who do you use as your awarding body for accredited qualifications?” We replied that we use Qualifications Network UK, as it aligns well with our internal and external quality assurance processes.

So was this a silly question

He expressed his gratitude for all the assistance we provided with his questions today. He recognised that his questions were not silly, as he genuinely didn’t have the answers. He truly appreciated our willingness to help him while maintaining a friendly demeanour.

He mentioned that we sent him a quote for Emergency First Aid training at his location a few days ago.

After all the support you’ve given me today, I would like to book some first-aid training with Warwickshire First Aid Training.

Conclusion

We frequently receive questions related to first aid, and we are more than happy to assist anyone with their first aid needs. We don’t believe that most questions are silly; instead, they reflect a lack of knowledge about the topic.

We gladly offer free advice and support, aiming to help individuals make informed choices when selecting a first aid training provider and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
